Conquests still play a part as you seek to quell the land and protect what's yours and as religion becomes more dominant, Crusades and Jihads will come into play. What you do in this world is up to you, but this mod certainly supplies a wealth of content to pursue it.

Mount And Blade Nova Aetas Wiki
I just started Nova Aetas yesterday after watching Reformist's series on it. Fantastic mod so far, but I'm having an issue with constantly picking up negative traits for seemingly no reason. I've only picked up three traits so far, and they've all been negative (Ugly, Faithless, Coward).
I can't figure out why I picked these up. I've kept plenty of money on me (based on advice from another thread here), I'm a blacksmiths apprentice at Curaw, I'm pagan Nord and have prayed at the temple almost ever in-game day as well as buying a few pagan piety bonus items. I've also never retreated or surrendered from a battle, so I'm not sure what proc'd the Faithless and Coward traits.
